New Year's Marketing: The Branding of Black Plague Brewing

· social media,marketing,branding,brewery,black plague brewing

Their beer is refreshing and their brand strategy is impressive.

I'm a native San Diegan and as you know, we have beer. We have lots and lots of craft beer. It's been labeled the Beer Craft Capital of the World (yes, there are others that keep changing the title) and microbreweries keep popping up like water on gremlins.

One of my favorites is Black Plague Brewing in Oceanside, California. They specialize in IPAs and their branding is impressive. It is consistent, creative, and eye-catching. The brewery is also allegedly backed by professional skaters like Tony Hawk, who happens to make frequent visits.

Most of their social media marketing comes from their 12k followers on Instagram, me being one of them. After seeing a post, I decided to purchase tickets for their New Year's Eve Party with The Great Gatsby.

The event includes a flappers & burlesque show, a live performance from Gypsy Groove jazz band, red carpet photography, new beer release, appetizers, and champagne at midnight. I was so excited for the event I bought tickets early which was good call because it sold old. People on social media were not happy about it but, however, I'm sure Black Plague Brewering was stocked with the overwhelming support.

The event was spectacular. Most people dressed up and I had a blast.
